We exist to create what we call ‘Healthy Human Spaces’. Homes, workplaces and other built environments that enhance the health of the people within them and the world around them.
Healthy Human Spaces aren’t only warm and dry inside, they are made using materials that actively contribute to human wellbeing, and cost less to maintain in the long term. And by working with environmentally positive materials and construction methods, they keep the world outside them healthy too.
The Healthy Human Space design philosophy considers Wellbeing, Purpose and Delight as the vital ingredients of great design.
- Wellbeing of both people and the planet is vital to the design of the built environment. Sustainability is no longer something to be negotiated, it is a must. We must design in ways that seek to give more than they take and can be sustained into the future.
- Finding the purpose of our projects is a vital part of our process and motivation, it’s the reason we all do what we do. We love projects with a strong social purpose, where good outcomes for the many are put ahead of the few. We believe that the benefits of great design should be enjoyed by everyone in Aotearoa New Zealand.
- Delight comes from thoughtful and intelligent design, it’s the beauty and happiness that can be created with imagination, creativity and care. Good design is 99% invisible, it is there in the background without ever being noticed, whereas delight is achieved in that final 1%; where a good design can become great.
